Women's Imaging - Digital Mammography
Click Above For Information About Specific Procedures
Mammography is a specialized examination for the early detection of breast cancer. Our digital system utilizes computer technology to store your images electronically rather than on X-ray film. This digital technology enables our radiologists to utilize a computerized second review of mammograms for both screening and diagnostic mammographies.
Digital spot view mammography allows faster and more accurate stereotactic breast biopsy. This results in shorter examination times and significantly improved patient comfort and convenience since the time the patient must remain still is much shorter. With digital spot-view mammography, images are acquired digitally and displayed immediately on the system monitor. Spot-view digital systems have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in guiding breast biopsy.
