Mammography is a specialized examination for the early detection of breast cancer. Our digital system utilizes computer technology to store your images electronically rather than on X-ray film. This digital technology enables our radiologists to utilize a computerized second review of mammograms for both screening and diagnostic mammographies.
Digital spot view mammography allows faster and more accurate stereotactic breast biopsy. This results in shorter examination times and significantly improved patient comfort and convenience since the time the patient must remain still is much shorter. With digital spot-view mammography, images are acquired digitally and displayed immediately on the system monitor. Spot-view digital systems have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in guiding breast biopsy.

A Genius 3D Mammography exam is very similar to having a traditional 2D mammogram. However, Genius 3D mammography allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. So, instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with traditional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below. Like a 2D mammogram, the technologist will position you, compress your breast, and take images from different angles.
There is no additional compression required with Genius 3D mammography, and it only takes a few seconds longer for each view. The Technologist will view the images of your breasts at the computer workstation to ensure quality images have been captured for review. A Radiologist will then examine the images and report results to either your physician or directly to you.
Genius 3D mammography is clinically proven to be superior to traditional mammography in extensive research published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA)
Genius 3D Mammography detects 41% more invasive breast cancers and reduces false positives by up to 40%.
